To find the Median, place the numbers you are given in value order and find the middle number. if there are an even amount of numbers ,we need to find the middle pair of numbers, and then find the value that would be half way between them.
In this problem, no matter where the unknown Y would be placed, the middle pair of numbers would always be 10 and 10,corresponding to a median number of 10.
so the answer is 10 years.
