| 往高了说，认识到宗教传统能够对人类经验提供独特的见解，推动了宗教信仰自由的进步。一方面，尽管实践与反思的结合丰富且复杂，却也有一些见解，而这些见解本身也并非信仰问题，（尽管有时可以用宗教语言来表达）。另一方面，即使尊重信仰问题，这些问题也可看作是清晰的形象，引人注目的思考对象，隐喻以及可能性，他们甚至能刺激那些没有宗教信仰之人作有价值的思考。 |
