tell us your story about  dragon boat festival


The dragon boat festival is one of famous traditional festivals in China, it is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month.


The origin of this summer festival centers around a scholarly government official named Chu Yuan. He was a good and respected man, but because of the misdeeds of jealous rivals he eventually fell into disfavor in the emperor's court.


After hundreds of years,there are different customes about this festival in different part of China.
SO CAN YOU TELL US THE CUSTOM ABOUT IT IN YOUR HOMETOWN??
There are some main folkways in this festival~
FIRST, Dragon Boat race

Traditions At the center of this festival are the dragon boat races. Competing teams drive their colorful dragon boats forward to the rhythm of beating drums. These exciting races were inspired by the villager's valiant attempts to rescue Chu Yuan from the Mi Lo river. This tradition has remained unbroken for centuries

SECOND,Tzung Tzu


very popular dish during the Dragon Boat festival is tzung tzu. This tasty dish consists of rice dumplings with meat, peanut, egg yolk, or other fillings wrapped in bamboo leaves. The tradition of tzung tzu is meant to remind us of the village fishermen scattering rice across the water of the Mi Low river in order to appease the river dragons so that they would not devour Chu Yuan

i went to pingyao for two days!
The city is also known as Turtle City. The south and north gates represent a turtle’s head and tail,and the four gates on the east and west represent four legs, the two wells just beyond sourthern gate are the eyes. A web of alleys links the main streets in such a way that even the layout of the town resembles the markings on a turtle shell.

Slipping into the city, i feel as if i am entering the movie set of an elaborate Chinese period drama production. Elegant Ming and Qing architecture line the  streets. Like in the good old days, there are no cars in pingyao’s winding alleys; pedestrains and bicycles crowd the lanes, and a rickshaw（黄包车） rider  past. The ancient abodes of the commoners are fascinating cultural relics. Most of the compounds are arranged in quadrangles, where the houses are built around a square courtyard.
As dawn breaks and the morning sun bathes pingyao’s gray city walls in worm tones, i find myself flung back in time.

This DUANWU Festival，we had a trip to a small valley.At morning，the weather is cloudy and not very hot，but unfortunately when we reached there the sun turned very big.even if very hot，we still enjoy this travel freely.
The valley is developed and rebuilt not long time ago and there are two footpaths around the wally which two will trend together by a circle.There is also a     unfinished “Great wall” which stretchs from half-hillside to the bottom of the valley.

see the "Great wall" haha,it is a little similar.
Can you see the small village down the hillside?The people there live their lives with orchard，cornfield，
courtyard and fowls there.As a man also coming from a village，this type of life has a big attraction to me.

I encountered a grassman there and I have sent its photos here several days ago.

Along the road，there are many fruit trees.we had come here at a wrong time，when cherries was out of market
and apricots were not very riped.So we just ate some un-riped apricots there with sour in our mouths for a long
time...
All in all， I was cheerful that day. where did you go on Dragon Boat‘s Day.
