【Discussion】anyone could tell me the reasons

Yesterday I found some cards have changed colour. They become yellowish, lost luster. It looks bad I put these cards in the drawer. Is this an inevitable process or does properly maintaining cards prevent from happening? 卡颜色变得暗黄，不知道什么原因，是放在抽屉里的，大概集了8年，一般寒暑假都有拿出来， 这种颜色变化是不是必然的？有没有什么方法可以保持好。 这里看看 这些颜色，多数是正面颜色变化不大，反面很糟糕，     this card white turn to yellow.  以前都没发现 ，看到后很难过，没有好好保护变成这样了。 anyone could tell me the reasons ? The lignin and pigment under the action of sunlight and air, and gradually changed, making paper, variable; yellow brittle.   |

It's rare and commendable that you could conserve so many cards for so long a time! I dumped them immediately after their missions. May be I should learn from you, they are really memorable! I suggest you to keep them away from air and light in a container with powerful vaccum effect  |

The reason why the cards fade is that the chemical which was used in the cards to improve the whiteness had been changed or reacted due to the long-term contact with air.
