Dear Dr Liu,

Announcing the Final Programme for Pharma-Nutrition Conference
Secure your place at the Pharma-Nutrition Conference, which will take place on 18-20 April at Amsterdam's NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky.

The state of the art programme is now available online at http://www.pharma-nutrition.com/programme.asp. This programme is dedicated to bringing the two communities together and gaining further insights into many new therapeutic research areas. This includes seeing how the pharmacologists, clinicians and nutritional scientists are working towards practical applications of medical nutrition in improving patient treatments, disease management and patient outcomes.

There will also be a chance for young investigators to showcase their research with the Young Investigator Award Ceremony. An author workshop will also provide a valuable insight in to the publishing world.

Young Investigator Award Ceremony
Ten outstanding submissions will be nominated for the award which is designed to acknowledge research contributions that further the development and knowledge on the interface between nutrition and pharma. The ten selected abstracts will be judged during the first two days of the conference. The judging criteria being:
Originality of research concept
Soundness of research design
Quality/clarity of research report
Perceived value of the research to Pharma-Nutrition
Three final nominees will then be selected to present a 5 minute oral presentation during the opening session on Day 3. One outstanding young investigator will be selected as the recipient of the award, and will receive a certificate and a ?500 cash prize.

Author Workshop
Spanning 2 and half days the conference will include sessions on Oncology, Infectious Diseases, COPD/Asthma, and Allergy. At the end of the conference there will be a complimentary post-conference author workshop.

Dr. Jaap van Harten, executive publisher at Elsevier, explains why such a workshop will be held; "we hope that this workshop will provide a valuable opportunity for the direct interaction between authors, editors and publishers. Providing answers to questions such as what is a well-written manuscript , what are the do's and don'ts of manuscript writing (including publication ethics), how do editors come to their decisions, and what happens behind the scenes from manuscript submission to publication."
