The Editorial Office has received the decision on your article.
The Reviewers' comments are as follows:
***********************************************************
Dear Authors,
Thank you for telling us about your previous publication of a conference paper with contents linked to your PATREC submission. When you are extending a conference paper for journal publication, it is absolutely essential that you list the conference paper in the References, which you do not. In the Introduction the conference paper should be cited and you should explain what further developments are presented in the current paper. Otherwise the reviewers cannot judge the originality of the paper.
Also note that Pattern Recognition Letters is a Letters Journal, publishing short papers, with a maximum of about 5000 words and about seven figures plus tables. You should try to limit the number of figures in your paper.

In view of the comments made, the Associate Editor responsible for your article has decided that the paper can be reconsidered for publication after major revisions. Therefore we look forward to receiving the revised version of the article as soon as possible, but WITHIN TWO MONTHS, together with a list of changes or a rebuttal against each point which is being raised.
If we do not receive your revision within the 2-month period (deadline: 08-06-2011), your paper will be considered withdrawn. Any revision after this will be treated as a new submission and subject to a new review cycle. |
