I can say something about the first topic! In my opinion, the first mission of universities in China is to cultivate elites, like would-be Bill Gates, or Nobel prize winners at the present. Many people say China's education is a failure. And most of them are parents. What do they do for their children? Universities' education should encourage students' curiosity and interest. So the second mission is to motivate students to do what they want if only their ideas are good. Chinese students are less brave to realize their ideas. You know, ideas are always crazy at first sight. Universities should do more work at this aspect. |

i believe that we study at university not only to learn professional skills and knowledge, that will be behind the times soon, but more importantly, we have to master the way of creative thinking and acquire some abilities that we learn beyond books like searching useful things we need at the library or on the internet. it's also very important to make more friends through the involvement in various social activities and participation in different clubs and associations. u can learn from each other, and learn to care about others. with these qualities i am sure we will have enough confidence to meet with the challenges in the future. i need BBs [ Last edited by winzhouyun on 2010-12-19 at 14:03 ] |

i want to say sth about the first topic. I think the universities should foster the students in the following aspects. First and it is the most important, the students should have a positive way to looking the world; then the students should know how to learning sth at a proper way suitable for himself or herself; Third the students should know how to communicate with others, how to cooperate with others. |

| First,students need study,so universities should give a well environment to their studing, Then universities play a role of bridge between school and society,so uniersities should make students know and learn the more social knowedge the better,Last but not the least the universities should stimulate the student's interest, they will do something passionate.Please give me some gold coin ,please!!!! |

| in my opinion , education is the most important mission for universities. universities should not only teach students knowledge but also teach them to be a valuable person to the society. certainly , as students , we should learn more by ourselves. universities cannot teach us everything. improving ourselves is also an important ability for us in modern society. if everyone of us try ourselves to be valuable for our society , the society will be nicer and nicer. of course ,universities have played very a positive role. |
