I have now received the letters of reference. All of them are excellent as I had assumed after our telephone conversation. Therefore, given your outstanding research accomplishments and close alignment of your future interests with our goals, I would be very happy to have you join our group. I suppose you know, based on your husband's experience, that I cannot officially offer you the position; that has to come from the NIH itself. Hoping that you do decide to join us, I have asked my secretary to get in touch with you to initiate the required paperwork.

Dear Dr. Wang:

It is a pleasure to offer you a position as Research Associate in the Department of Physics and Chemical
and 8iomolecular Science. Your superviso[ will be Dr. *****. Your initial appointmel1t will commence
03/01/2010 and end 02/28/2011 with the possìbmty of annual continuations not to exceed a total period of
five years. Your first year salary will be $35,000.00 and will be paid in bi-weekly installments, in accordance
with the University payroll schedule. Your second year salary will either be the same or may increase based
on peformance and budgetary approval.
You aare eligible to participate in the standard fringe benefits available to employees in your classification.
These are described in the Operations Manual. The provisions of the manual, as revised from time
