Abstract The infra-red spectra of some hydrazine-metal complexes of the general formula M(N2H4)2Cl2 have been measured in the 2–35 μ region. A comparison of the spectra of Cd(N2H4)2Cl2 and Cd(N2D4)2Cl2 enables the assignment of the observed absorption bands. The sequence of some of the molecular modes of vibration (such as the NH2 twisting, rocking, torsion and the N---N and M---N stretching frequencies) agrees closely with the natural order of the stability of bivalent complexes. |
