For a girl, she wants to have more sense of security. Maybe in her eyes, the first step of having a home is having a house. As a girl, my boyfriend and I　are not in the same city. In my eyes, a house is the space just for me and him and our families, and I don't care about how tinpot the house will be. East ,west ,home is best!

The house isn't the most important thing between couples, but it is quite important for a decent life. We don't have house yet, and my gf offen asks me similar question "when would we afford a house?" I always tell her that "I'm sure we could have our own house few years later, we are living a happy life and we would definitely have a decent life, the house is just a small part of life "
What your girl needs is safty feeling to life and your promise for that, it means she wants to be with you.

There are some difference between these two words. House is a place to live in. It can be seen, and it can be touched, so we can say it is substantial. Home is a sense that make you feel safe and love. Sometimes home is not connected with house. But in most cases people put the sense of home into a house, and think the house as a home. Modern city young people struggle to save money to buy a house instead of building a home with their lovers.
