For PMSG system, besides the feature of DFIG system, it also comes with the following technical advantages:
1. The adoption of full power converter with consatant frequency output and the physical separation between generator and grid which ensures that the drop of grid voltage will not act directly on the stator of the generator assure the steady and smooth operation of the generator.
2. The use of sine wave pulse width modulation in full power converter would help achieve approximate voltage and current of standard sine wave, which not only greatly reduces the harmonic content but also improve the power quality.
3. Permanent magnet electricity generation technology can provide reactive power to the grid. Under the rated wind speed, permanent magnet generator can output electricity at a high efficiency. As a result, permanent magnet generator set will yield about 15%-20% more electricity per year than doubly-fed generator set does
