My boyfriend and I worked in different cities,one in Shanghai,the other in Qingdao. The result is that I gave up my job and choosed Shanghai as my living place,whatever it is a completly strange city. In my view,the price I payed is a worth.
So,your decision depends on yourself,not your love.

Maybe you give up this job rather than giving up your work.
Why do we work or study? For living. Everyone wants to have the better life.
What's the better life? I think it's having a healthy body, the good mind, and the most important-a happy family.
You may have lots of money from this work, but you are busy and tired, have no time to enjoy life, even ignore your love.
You maybe have no overtime or change a job rather than giving up your work.
Work and love is both important.

Hard work is the basis of happiness,necessary for our lives,but i want to say :love is more important than anything.Living with your lover is privious to your work,trust me and spent more time on  whom you love.

Everyone needs a transfer from studends to staff. When you are a student, you can company with your lover almost all of your time, and you are very happy. however, when you become a staff, you are not free any more. You belong to your company and should earn money to live. That means you have no choice sometimes. But if it is temporary, your lover will understand you also. If not, I think you should change your work. My opinion just for reference.
