Postdoc Positions in the University College Dublin

Research overview and expected candidates: The Polychip group (Dr. Nan Zhang’s Lab) at the University College Dublin is currently seeking two postdoctoral researchers to join our team. The Polychip group is dedicated to screening of lipid nanoparticles formulations by AI using microfluidic devices and disease treatment. Nan Zhang is offering two postdoctoral positions with an annual salary of �42,000. The first position is a 12-month contract requiring a background in artificial intelligence and the ability to independently develop AI algorithms. The second position, with an 18-month contract, requires a background in software, familiarity with embedded system design and automation, and the capability to implement control over hardware systems. Dr Nan Zhang is Associate Professor at University College Dublin. His research work covers polymer micro/nano manufacturing, precision manufacturing of plastic microfluidic chips, microfluidic systems for the synthesis of genetic nanomedicine and molecular diagnostics, manufacturing functional micro/nano structured surfaces, and atomic and close-to-atomic-scale manufacturing. Dr Zhang won 4.5Million grants in his early career, including an H2020 MSCA ITN Grant as a consortium co-coordinator and UCD PI. His work was also funded by Science Foundation Ireland, Enterprise Ireland-Commercialization Funding, Irish Research Council etc. He has published many peer-reviewed journal papers, in Materials Today, International Journal of Machine Tools and Manufacture, Nano Letters, and ACS Applied Materials and Interface. He was the chair of the 6th and 8th international conferences on polymer replication on the nanoscale (PRN2019, PRN2022). He is the associate editor of the journal “Frontier in Lab on a Chip Technologies” and he is a Board member of the Microfluidic Association.
