Engineers, working with business leaders and government policy makers, translate such needs into engineering requirements. Synthetic chemists must listen carefully to understand the whole picture. In this way, we will ensure we are not just synthesizing something which looks pretty but instead create colloidal nanocrystals which work effectively in the real world.
