篇末该文用一漫画简明扼要的来说明仅是合成出了性能好的量子点没什么用了，应该关注一下它能在现实世界中起到什么作用。不知道他会在哪方面做一些应用，如今还没见他出手，但是相信一出手又是好工作。

In summary, the demands for functional materials come from everyday life. Engineers, working with business leaders and government policy makers, translate such needs into engineering requirements. Synthetic chemists must listen carefully to understand the whole picture. In this way, we will ensure we are not just synthesizing something which looks pretty but instead create colloidal nanocrystals which work effectively in the real world.
