会议英文名称：13th European Conference on Applications of Surface and Interface Analysis 会议于10月18-23日在土耳其召开。 会议将在Surface and Interface Analysis 上出版专刊，该期刊是由Wiley出版的。 重要的日期如下： Start Abstract Submission September 30, 2008 Abstract Submission Deadline May 08, 2009 （摘要截止日） Notification of Acceptance of the Abstracts May 25, 2009 Early Bird Deadline (for Conference Fee Payment) June 01, 2009 Proceeding Paper Submission Deadline August 14, 2009 （全文截止日） 其他信息： Foyer Area A convenient and large space will be reserved for the exhibition adjacent to the conference rooms at the Hotel. Conference Program and Abstract Book Conference Program and Abstract Book will be given to for the registrants Transfer Airport transportation can be arranged by ARBER Travel upon request, have to be done online via the web page. Transfer fee is 25 euros for one way/ 50 euros for round trip and should be added to the registration fee. Opening Ceremony and Welcome Cocktail Will be declared as soon as possible. Gala Dinner Will be declared as soon as possible. Transportation There is a Public Transportation (Dolmus Taxi or Midibus) from Dedeman Resort Hotel & Convention Center / Lara Yolu to the Airport and downtown. Also public airport shuttle buses (HAVAS) run between the airport and the city center from 7.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. every half hour for a fee of 6.- per person (to be paid on the bus in Turkish Lira). It takes about 45 min from airport to the city centre. Also you can do the transportation within the city centre/ airport by taxi. Dress Code Business attire or business casual attire is required for scientific sessions. Business attire is appropriate for the Gala Dinner. Local Time GMT +2 Flights Turkish Airlines ( THY ) has been designated as the official carrier company of the Conference. Web site of THY is www.thy.com.tr . Istanbul is readily accessible from all parts of the world, and served by more than 50 airlines. Turkish Airlines offers direct flight from 77 cities around the world. A detailed information will be declared later Invitation Official letters of invitation will be sent on request without any financial obligation. Visa All participants are required a valid passport and may be required a visa for visiting Turkey. Please contact your nearest Turkish Embassy / Consulate for this purpose. Participants from those countries where there is no Turkish diplomatic representation office can obtain their visa at the airport on arrival to Turkey. National driving licenses of the foreigners are recognized throughout Turkey . Note that seat belts must be fastened at all times and speed limit is available in all roads. Driving is forbidden when alcohol is used and while using cigarettes. Banking & Currency Exchange The currency unit is “YTL- New Turkish Lira”. Some foreign currency can be exchanged on arrival at the airport in Istanbul. Most of the banks are open from 9:00 to 16:30 Monday through Friday, some banks in the city provide extended banking hours. Exchange facilities are also available in hotels and exchange bureaus located in the city center. Credit Cards Most of the hotels, restaurants and shops accept major international credit cards. Personal Insurance & Liability & Emergency Personal insurance and accident insurance are recommended to all participants during their stay in Turkey . The Organizing Committee will not accept any responsibility in this respect but assistance will be provided in urgent cases. In case of illness or accident, contact the hotel receptions or registration desk in the Congress venue. The participant in the Conference agrees that the Organizing Committee and Secretariat does not assume responsibility for personal medical and travel expenses incurred during the Conference. Participants are advised to obtain their own travel insurance policies. Attendees waive any claim against the Organization for injury or other damages resulting in any way from Conference participation. Climate & Dressing October is the ending of summer with mild weather of approximately 21-27 °C in the daytime and about 16-20 °C in the evenings. We recommend you to bring light clothes and rain coats for possible showers. Business & Shopping Hours Government offices are open in weekdays from 8:30 to 17:00 and closed at the weekend. Most of the shops are open from 9:00 through 19:00 Monday to Saturday. Some of the supermarkets, shopping malls, department stores, newspapers and food shops are also open on Sundays. Certain newspapers in English, German and French are available in the hotels. Tipping Tax and service charges are included in the cost of all goods and services. Although it is not mandatory, a small tip is expected for good service. As a guideline, add about 5% - 10% to the total bill. Electricity Supply The electric current is 220 volts / 50 Hz AC with European type connections. Badges Wearing badges is mandatory in order to have an access to the scientific sessions, refreshments and social events. Travel Agency Desk ARBER Tourism has been appointed as the official travel agency of the Conference. A desk will be available to assist you or any accompanying person(s) with the excursions especially who makes online reservations. Smoking Policy The Organization Committee has a no-smoking policy prohibiting smoking during all scientific sessions. Smoking is prohibited at closed areas by law in Turkey . Certificate of Attendance A certificate of attendance will be given to all registered participants. Program Changes The Organization Committee cannot assume liability for any changes in the program due to external or unforeseen circumstances.
