I do not know. If the email came from the editorial manager office and you are a co-author, most likely you will need to verify that. Otherwise the journal may delay the review process. If you are unsure, you should contact the corresponding author about this. Note that the person actually submitting the manuscript is the corresponding author "during submission", but some journals ask if the person submitting is doing it "on behalf " of other authors. Not sure if I make myself clear with this explanation.
