Bioaccessibility indicates the amount or portion of contaminant that is or can become available within a given time span, and can be measured by partial extraction methods (such as mild solvent extraction or Tenax desorption), while chemical activity refers to the energetic state of a chemical and quantifies the potential for spontaneous physicochemical processes. In contrast, chemical activity should be a singular value in a given sample. |
