With the benefit of the unique structural and conductivity features of the nanotube structure and the presence of the amorphous carbon layer, carbon-coated TiN NTs, as a noble metal-free catalyst for the ORR in alkaline media, exhibited outstanding electrocatalytic activity, long-term stability, and excellent resistance to methanol crossover effects. XRD patterns were obtained via a D8 Advance (Bruker) X-ray dif-fractometer with CuKa radiation (l =1.5418 &  . Raman spectra were obtained by means of a confocal microprobe Raman system (Re-nishaw, RM2000). SEM images were obtained by means of a JSM 7401F, 3 KV. TEM images were obtained with a Hitachi model H-800 transmission electron microscope operating at an acceleratingvoltage of 100 kV. Electrochemical measurements were performedby using a CHI 830 electrochemical analyzer coupled with a RDE system (Princeton Applied Research, Model 616). The electrochemical cell was assembled with a conventional three-electrode system: a glassy carbon working electrode, an Agj AgCl/KCl (saturated) reference electrode, and a Pt wire counter electrode. |
