美国怀俄明大学（University of Wyoming）机械工程系Dr. Jian Cai 课题组现有2个硕/博士研究生名额，具体信息如下： Motivated graduate school applicants are invited to join Dr. Jian Cai’s research group at the University of Wyoming. The research group has two RA/TA openings for combustion research. 两个研究方向分别为： 1. The first position focuses on laser diagnostics of turbulent flames. In this research, the state-of-art optical techniques will be employed to investigate turbulent-chemistry-radiation interactions in turbulent flames. Special attentions will be paid to revealing small-scale flame structures that affect the accuracy of turbulent combustion models in both Reynolds Averaged and Large Eddy Simulations. 2. The second position focuses on numerical simulations of coal conversions. State-of-the-art computational methods for turbulent combustion, radiative heat transfer and multiphase flows will be implemented into open-source CFD codes. The resulting codes will be employed to investigate important fuel conversion processes in energy research. Potential topics include oxy-coal combustion, fluidized-bed coal combustion, and coal/biomass gasification. 申请人条件为： 基本条件：For both positions the successful candidates should demonstrate： 1. A bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields; 2. Knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer and combustion; 3. Programming experience in C, Fortran, C++, Matlab or python. 对于偏重实验的研究生职位： For the experimental position, previous experience in the following fields is desirable but not required: ---Turbulent flows, experimental instruments and/or laser spectroscopy. 对于偏重数值模拟的研究生职位： For the computational position, previous experience in the following fields is desirable but not required: 1. Knowledge of turbulent flows, multiphase flows and numerical methods; 2. Programming experience in C++; 3. Experience with Linux/Unix; 4. Experience with CFD software, preferably OpenFOAM. Dr. Cai’s research group offers hands-on experience in both experiments and simulations. The multi-physics approach uniquely incorporates the latest research developments in turbulence, chemistry, radiation and multiphase flows.
