The School of Computing and Informatics at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette is excited to announce the availability of two PhD student positions starting Spring 2025. These positions are funded by some type of assistantship and involve cutting-edge research in artificial intelligence applications in medicine. Research Focus: Our research will explore several dynamic areas including: • Multi-modal medical data fusion for disease screening • Fairness learning in medical AI applications • Pretraining of 2D and 3D medical imaging models • Development of medical vision and language models • AI applications in medical education These positions offer an excellent opportunity to work under the guidance of Dr. Min Shi. Candidates will be expected to contribute to the development of innovative AI solutions, publish scholarly articles, and participate in academic activities such as teaching assistantships.
