Description
The research group of Prof. Zdenek Sofer at the University of Chemistry and Technology (UCT) Prague is seeking outstanding candidates passionate about research and motivated to pursue PhD position. Special emphasis on the opening PhD positions is placed on recruiting talented, self-motivated candidates with a solid background in physics, chemistry, materials science, and chemical engineering. The successful candidates will work on synthesizing, growing, and characterization of 2D materials for energy storage, energy conversion, microelectronic and optoelectronic applications. The proposed research projects will focus on elucidating the crystal growth of novel 2D materials and their fabrication on state-of-the-art devices. Thus, Experience in the field of 2D materials, their crystal growth, fabrication, or characterization is mandatory.

Requirements
• University degree (MSc degree or equivalent) in physics, chemistry, materials science and chemical engineering.
• Experimental background in 2D materials (crystals/thin film growth) and their applications in energy storage/conversion, microelectronic and optoelectronic.
• Well-organized and self-motivated researcher with excellent communication skills (very good in written and spoken English).
