Postdoctoral Researcher (Metallurgy/ Solidification & Casting of Al Alloys)
Project title: ¡°Rapid Solidification in High Pressure Vacuum Die Casting of Al Alloys: Characterization and Modelling¡±
Responsibilities
We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher in the field of Metallurgy and Materials Science Engineering with a major interest in Phase Field Modelling and Computational Thermodynamics. The candidate must have a PhD degree in Metallurgy and Materials Science Engineering, with an outstanding profile to work on a project focuses on Rapid Solidification in High Pressure Vacuum Die Casting of Al Alloys.
Qualifications
Requirements include, but not limited to:
PhD in Metallurgy and Materials Science Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (Manufacturing or Production Engineering);
Skilled in Material Process Modelling (specifically on Phase Field Modelling and Computational Thermodynamics);
Solid background/ experience on Rapid Solidification, and Phase Transformation of Metals.
Strong hands-on experience on material characterization skills (SEM/EBSD, TEM, XRD, etc). Experience on other characterization methods such as HRTEM, APT and FIB will be considered a plus;
Excellent oral, written and verbal communication skills evidenced by a strong publication and conference presentation record;
Strong organization, analytical and problem-solving skills;
Proven ability to work quickly and reliably while under pressure.
