Department of Infrastructure Engineering, the University of Melbourne is currently accepting applications for two PhD Scholarships.
About this role
Two scholarship-funded PhD positions are available at Department of Infrastructure Engineering, the University of Melbourne, Australia. Successful applicants will participate in the investigation of advanced multi-functional lightweight structural forms with a focus on the development of porous metallic or cementitious structures to achieve optimised performance under various loading conditions.

• Living allowance of $31,200 per year pro rata (tax-free; subject to change)

Requirements
The successful applicants are expected to possess:
1) Bachelor degree in civil, aerospace, mechanical engineering or a closely related area with a good GPA (first class honour or equivalent);
2) Good understanding in solid mechanics and numerical modelling techniques;
3) Strong motivation for research excellence and great capacity to collaborate;
4) Proficiency in English to meet the language requirements for PhD enrolment. For international students, IELTS: 6.5 (with no band less than 6), ITOEFL: 79+ (Writing 21, Speaking 18, Reading 13, Listening 13);
5) Master degree and research experience/publications are advantageous but not essential;
