PhD positions in Electronic Engineering & Neural Engineering in UCL

1. Background Information UCL is a leading university at UK, and one of the top 10 universities in the world (QS World Ranking 8th). Particularly, UCL ranks 2nd for overall Research Power in UK and ranks 1st for Medical Technology in Europe. The HUB of Intelligent Neuro-engineering (HUBIN) at UCL is founded by Dr Hubin Zhao, who is currently a full-time Assistant Professor at UCL, UK. Dr Hubin Zhao has strong background in Electronic Engineering & Neural Engineering, and his research team is working at the intersection of Advanced Electronics, Neural Engineering, and Medical Technologies. 2. PhD Research Topics The primary research topics of Dr Hubin Zhao include: • Wearable & Non-Contact Medical Imaging, Sensing and Health Monitoring Technologies • Advanced Medical Electronics, Microelectronics & Optoelectronics for Medical Applications • Technology Developments for Brain-Computer Interface & Human-Robot Interaction • Artificial Intelligence (AI) Hardware for Medical Imaging and Healthcare Currently, there are several PhD projects available at HUB of Intelligent Neuro-engineering, UCL for 2022 autumn entry. If you are interested in (one of) these research topics above, please contact Dr Hubin Zhao (hubin.zhao@ucl.ac.uk). The candidates are expected to have background in Electronic Engineering (inc. any relevant subjects), Optoelectronics, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant disciplines. 3. Project and Scholarship Info The duration of each project is about 3-4 years, expected to start in Sept 2022.
