Professor Pascal Saikaly，现就职于阿卜杜拉国王科技大学（KAUST），主要从事微生物电化学（BES）、好痒颗粒污泥（AGS）、厌氧氨氧化（ANAMMOX）等方面的研究，相关结果在Nature Microbiology Review, Nature Communication, Advanced Materials, Water Research及ES&T等期刊发表。现欲招聘博士后及环境工程师各一名，两个职位均可以马上入职。候选人需要具备设计或操作厌氧反应器方面的相关经验，同时工作踏实，语言交流能力好，有较强的独立科研工作能力和良好的时间管理能力。具有分子生物学及测序分析经验及高水平论文发表经历者将会被优先考虑。 待遇：postdoc 5.5w美元左右/每年，engineer面议。房租水电网全免，医疗保险全包，每年还有一次旅行补贴。 有意者请将简历以及三个推荐人姓名和联系方式发给Professor Saikaly，并请在邮件主题中注明是申请Postdoc 或者 Research Engineer for Anaerobic Fermentation Bioreactor。 邮箱： pascal.saikaly@kaust.edu.sa Job description Two positions (one postdoc and one research engineer) are available at the Water Desalination and Reuse Center (WDRC) at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) to work on a multidisciplinary research project related to the application of anaerobic fermentation bioreactor for organic waste treatment with focus on bioprocess engineering, reactor design and microbial ecology. Requirements The candidates should have a Ph.D. (for postdoc application) or at least a M.S. (for research engineer position) degree in environmental engineering, environmental microbiology, or related fields. The candidates are expected to have a strong experience in designing and operating anaerobic bioreactors. Experience in the use of general molecular biological tools (e.g., PCR, qPCR, and FISH), next-generation sequencing techniques and data analysis using open-source software packages (e.g., MOTHUR; QIIME) is a big plus for candidates applying for the postdoc position. Candidates must possess strong analytical and communication (written and oral English) skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment. The preferred applicants are expected to work independently, and the positions can start immediately with the option of contract renewal on an annual basis. Conditions of employment Compensation is highly competitive and will be commensurate with qualification and experience. The two positions are available immediately, and will be renewable on an annual basis, and is anticipated for two years.
