Before making a final decision on your manuscript, I would like to give you an opportunity to address the reviewers’ concerns. The reviews are appended below.
It is the policy of Optics Express to allow only one revision cycle; therefore it is important to respond to all of the reviewer points carefully and to make it evident that you have done so. For this reason, please provide a response letter to note any changes that have been made to the manuscript and indicate their locations. You will upload your response letter in the online system. Of course, you may not agree with the reviewers on every point. In this case, your responses and reasoning should be clearly presented because your manuscript might be sent for re-review upon resubmission.
In addition to the reviewer comments, it is important that you address the production notes included below. These contain format changes that are necessary for your paper to comply with the style guidelines of Optics Express, should your paper be accepted for publication.
Revised manuscripts are generally due within 10 days; however, we recognize that our editors, authors, and reviewers are dealing with disruption and delays due to COVID-19. Please let us know if you need more time to complete revisions and we will do our best to keep the publishing process moving smoothly.
Please submit your revised manuscript via the Optics Express online system at
http://prism.osapublishing.org/Author
Be sure to upload the native file, such as Word with embedded figures, or zipped TeX with .eps or .pdf figures. Please carefully proofread your paper before resubmission. Optics Express articles are not copyedited.
Thank you for your contribution to Optics Express. If you have any questions, please contact the journal assistant at opex@osa.org.
Wishing you good health during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Yanne Chembo

If authors wish to include an ORCID iD on the published PDF, then they must link their ORCID iD to their OSA account prior to acceptance; otherwise, it will not appear in the manuscript. This applies to the submitting author and all co-authors. To do this, the relevant author must click on the “Update Account” link on their Prism homepage or log-in directly to https://account.osa.org, then click the button “Create or Connect your ORCID iD” in the ORCID section of the Participation tab. If the ORCID window does not appear, then change your browser settings to enable pop-ups.
--------Reviewer Comments--------
Reviewer 1:
The manuscript “Electro-optic chaos system with time delay signature concealment based on XOR operation and multi-bit PRBS” by Zou et al. is well organized. The authors propose a novel chaos system with XOR operation and multi-bit PRBS. In this scheme, they prove that the introduction of DSP can enlarge the key space and TDSs can be concealed with the appropriate DSP parameter. The research results are interesting and helpful for further study of the electro-optic chaos theory. However, some issuers should be clarified before it is published in OE.
Reviewer 2:
This MS proposed a PRBS based time delay concealment scheme for OEO chaotic system. The analog state variable is converted to digital sequence through an ADC and a series of XOR operation is conducted in DSP. The authors claimed that the complexity is higher than conventional OEO and the time delay can be concealed. The simulation is conducted in detail, and the effectiveness is verified. However, I have some concerns about the scheme.
