Postdoctoral Fellows and PhD Students in Health Technologies (Multiple Areas: Biology, Materials Chemistry, Electrical Engineering)
Biomedical Institute for Global Health Research & Technology (BIGHEART)
National University of Singapore
The Laboratory for Multiscale Molecular Diagnostics @ BIGHEART, National University of Singapore (NUS), seeks highly motivated and talented postdoctoral research fellows and PhD students(Research Officers) to join our diverse team. We focus on developing novel micro- and nanoscale technologies to empower circulating biomarker research and its clinical translation. Selected fellows and students will lead various projects on 1) circulating biomarker discovery and assay development, 2) nanomaterial synthesis and applications, and 3) device design and prototyping. Please visit our lab website for more details (http://bioeng.nus.edu.sg/shaolab/).
Dr. Huilin Shao received her BA from Cornell University, with a double major in Biological Sciences and in Physics. She completed her dual PhD in Biophysics (Harvard University) and PhD in Medical Engineering (Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology, HST) under the guidance of Profs. Ralph Weissleder and Robert S. Langer. After a postdoctoral fellowship with Prof. Hakho Lee at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Dr. Shao returned to Singapore and started her research group. Dr. Shao is currently Assistant Professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering and Department of Surgery, National University of Singapore (NUS). She is also Principal Investigator at Biomedical Institute for Global Health Research and Technology (BIGHEART), NUS. Her research focuses on developing integrated nanotechnology-based platforms for molecular analyses of novel biomarkers. Her work has been published in top journals such as Nature Biotechnology, Nature Medicine, Nature Biomedical Engineering, Nature Communications and highlighted in major reviews and popular news media.
