浸大中药创新研发中心招聘助理教授

SCHOOL OF CHINESE MEDICINE Applications are invited for the following positions in the Centre for Chinese Herbal Medicine Drug Development, which is located in the Hong Kong Science Park. Individuals who are highly devoted to innovative biomedical and new drug development research, value the treasures and with experience in research on Chinese medicine as well as work in close collaboration with basic and clinical scientists are welcome to apply. Centre for Chinese Herbal Medicine Drug Development Assistant Professor (2 positions) (PR0086/20-21) The appointee are expected to lead a vigorous research project, conduct the high quality and innovative research to explore the mechanism of disease and whether and how the therapeutic remedies including Chinese herbal formula takes effects. The appointees are also expected to supervise research assistants and PhD students, and apply for external competitive research grants. Applicants should have: (i) a PhD degree in the biological and biomedical sciences or related disciplines; (ii) experience in using technologies in research/studies, such as bioinformatics, chemoinformatics, epigenomics, genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, single-cell omics, molecular imaging, gene editing for gut microbiome, etc., in the studies; (iii) a strong track record in external grant and outstanding publication; (iv) a sound portfolio in basic and translational study research with Chinese medicine on gut-microbiome and host interaction in human gastrointestinal diseases, metabolic diseases, or immunological diseases, or acquainted with phytochemical studies and drug discovery and development. The position is on tenure-track with initial appointment on a three-year fixed-term contract. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement. Tenure is expected to be attained within six years. We offer an attractive remuneration package with competitive pay and excellent benefits.
