Student Internship Post # 1 (Research on Transportation system life cycle assessment)
Overview of the position:
Applications are invited for a Student Internship position in transportation system life cycle assessment (LCA). One student with a research and/or industry background working in the environmental impacts of transport system will be hired. The post will be a lead contributor data collection/analysis, technical reports and in-depth interactions with research partners.
The candidate will contribute to:
• Conducting an extensive literature review on the state of the art in transport LCA
• Assessing the environmental impacts of case study projects
• Developing a prospective evaluation framework for assessing the environmental implications of proposed projects
Required qualifications:
• Master/Bachelor degree in engineering (preference will be given to transportation engineering)
• Knowledge of transportation system
• Experience with GREET.net or other LCA software such as SimaPro, openLCA, or GaBi preferred.
• Strong computer skills relevant for data manipulation and analysis including experience with creating and using complex models in Excel. Experience with MS Access, Python, R, ArcGIS (or related software).
• Good command in English;
• Demonstrated experience with issues of sustainability and GHG emissions

Student Internship #2 (Research on Transportation planning and Sustainability)
Overview of the position:
Applications are invited for a student internship position in transportation planning and sustainability.
The RA is expected to work closely with the PhD student and faculty to:
1. Conducting an extensive literature review on the state of the art in transport planning
2. Supporting transport planning projects from forecasting and appraisal, to gathering and analyzing data for local modelling studies
3. Collecting retrieving, analyzing and using data and information on travel patterns and behavior
4. Analyzing, interpreting and presenting data using GIS and spreadsheets
5. Developing and apply the principles and techniques of changing travel behavior, including travel planning, travel marketing, walking and cycling initiatives and journey planning.
One student with a research and/or industry background working in transportation modeling and planning will be hired. The student will be a lead contributor data collection/analysis, technical reports and in-depth interactions with research partners.
Required qualifications:
