Two postdoc positions are available (starting August/September 2019) in the areas of (1) heterogeneous two-dimensional (2D) materials for biosensor applications and (2) experimental macro-/micro-/nano-mechanics. The project is under a KU-KAIST (Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) joint research initiative; researchers will have a chance to carry out short-term research at KAIST.
For position (1) in 2D materials, experiences in synthesis and characterization of 2D material systems and heterogeneous materials are required. For position (2), strong experimental techniques such as universal testing machine, dynamics mechanical analyzer, nano-indentation, AFM, and other relevant techniques are required. Knowledge of computational nanomechanics (molecular simulation/solid mechanics) will be an advantage. Successful candidates should have proven publication record in the aforementioned research field.
