phd candidate recruitment at the university of auckland (nz)
a phd position with full scholarship ($25,000 pa as stipends plus domestic tuition fee, for 3 years) is available at the department of chemical and materials engineering, university of auckland, new zealand.
the phd project is in the field of electrocatalysis for a range of applications including water splitting and carbon dioxide reduction.
the phd student will be working in a multidisciplinary research environment from electrochemisty, materials science, and chemical engineering. the phd student has also the opportunity to collaborate closely with the experienced research scientists and engineers in the fields of solid-state physics, and computational chemistry.

o phd scholarship:
the scholarship will have a tax-free stipend of up to nz$25,000 pa, plus domestic tuition fees, for up to three years;
o eligibility:
applicants must have bachelor degree in material science, chemistry or related fields. priority will be given to students who have english language certificate ready and research experiences in the electrocatalysis field or related.
o admission requirements:
bachelor (first-class honor) degree, master degree or equivalent in materials science, chemistry, or other relevant fields;
o minimum english language proficiency requirements (if english is not the applicant's mother tongue):
academic ielts: overall score of 6.5 and all bands 6.0 or better; or
internet-based toefl (ibt): overall score of 90 plus a written score of 21; or
paper-based toefl: overall score of 575 plus essay (twe) of 4.5
(all test results are valid for two years from the date on the test certificate.)
