Open PhD Positions in the field of Neuromorphic Machine Vision

Project Description This PhD project involves the design, fabrication and characterization of optical and electrical devices mimicking the behaviour of neurons. These so-called neuromorphic devices will be used to build smart sensors that emulate human vision such as object or pattern recognition for machine vision. Required Qualifications This project is highly interdisciplinary, spanning physics, chemistry, materials’ science as well as electrical engineering. Interested candidates with a Masters’ degree in one of these fields are most welcome to apply. We are seeking highly motivated and hard working students who are eager to learn and to explore new scientific frontiers. For international applicants, TOEFL and GRE are required.
