shariat yazdi we are looking for top motivated chinese research associates or phd students with (potential) scholarships to do high quality research in the computer science institute at the university of bonn, germany. successfully selected candidates will be given a conditional acceptance letter to apply for a scholarship at the chinese scholarship council (http://www.csc.edu.cn/) or the german academic exchange service (daad) (https://www.daad.de/en/) upon request. who we are? the research group of smart data analytics (sda) (http://sda.cs.uni-bonn.de/) is one of the top leading groups in machine learning, semantic web, data analytics and related domains and technologies. the leader prof. jens lehmann is a top expert in machine learning, and has an outstanding academic influence in related areas of knowledge graph, q&a system, linked data, sematic web. sda members have been involved in many reputable national, european and international research activities and projects. sda has around 40 researchers including 11 postdocs. the sda memers are from the department for computer science at the university of bonn, the fraunhofer institute for intelligent analysis and information systems (iais) and the institute for applied computer science in leipzig . at its core, the sda group investigates machine learning techniques ('analytics') using structured knowledge ('smart data'). the group aims at covering the full spectrum of research including theoretical foundations, algorithms, prototypes as well as industrial applications. requirements: • a very good master degree in a relevant field (computer science, statistics, mathematics or related domains). • outstanding analytical and abstraction skills as well as very good abilities in programming • proficiency in spoken and written english. • very good experiences or education background in one, preferebly more, of the following areas: ◦ machine learning, statistical learning, neural networks, deep learning, pattern recognition ◦ semantic web technologies and linked data ◦ big data, distributed processing, parallel computing, data mining ◦ statistics, description logic, mathematical logic, functional analysis ◦ tensors, linear algebra, numerical analysis, optimization ◦ software engineering, model-driven engineering, software analysis and transformation, software comprehension, compiler construction, mining software repositories we expect: • keen interest in top level conference and journal publications • co-supervision of master and bachelor theses • experience in software development and preferably
