Opening for Postdoctoral Position (Research group of David Burghoff)
I recently joined the faculty of Notre Dame and am looking for a talented and self-motivated postdoctoral researcher to join my group. The postdoc will conduct research in the area of coherent and quantum optoelectronics, and will exploit new physics to explore unique sensing modalities. Several projects have openings and the choice can be keyed to the postdoc¡¯s interests and skills; projects can range from the applied¡ªchip-scale QCL frequency combs, terahertz optoelectronic sources, computational sensing¡ªas well as the more fundamental¡ªstudies of comb coherence, optoelectronics based on new materials systems, etc.
Preferred qualifications:
• Ph.D. in electrical engineering, physics, materials science, or related areas
• Hands-on experience in the fabrication of semiconductor devices, especially in III-V devices.
Experience in the fabrication of intersubband optoelectronics is ideal but not required.
• Solid understanding of optoelectronics and solid-state device physics
• Experience in developing and optimizing new fabrication processes
