友善的全英文工作氛围，苏州工业园区非常宜居。 未来有拿全奖读英国利物浦大学博士的机会。 Position Information Position Title: Laboratory (Biology) Technician Department: Biological Sciences University/Campus: Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University Physical location of the position: Suzhou, China Employment Type: Full-Time Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) is a unique collaborative institution, the first, and currently the only university in China to offer both UK (University of Liverpool) and Chinese (Ministry of Education) accredited undergraduate degrees. Department of Biological Sciences delivers a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programmes in the fields of biomolecular sciences. This post will provide research support to PI’s research projects as directed by academic staff and the General Laboratory Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Provide research support to PI’s research projects. Such support would include using molecular and cell biology techniques such as PCR, DNA subcloning, cell culture and DNA transfection; measurement of protein expression, modification, and interaction through co-immunoprecipitaion/western blotting, confocal image and/or FRET/BRET analyses; cellular assays by flow cytometry; measurement of mRNA methylation, etc. · To undertake research projects within the scope of the PI’s research programmes. The post holder will manage his/her own research projects, including setting up techniques and producing high quality results on time. · Maintenance of efficient cell culture units with other research support staff. · Computation, graphing and analysis of results. · Presentation and discussion of results at meetings with Supervisor and Group members. · Meticulous recording of samples, stocks, procedures and results. · Complying with and implementing all health and safety procedures including risk assessments, and biosafety assessments. · General laboratory “housekeeping” duties. · Assisting with technical training and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students in the group. MINIMUM EDUCATION: Completion of BSc or Master’s degree in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology or biomedical science-related fields. (Legible copies of transcripts verifying coursework and degree must be included. Official transcripts will be required upon employment.) LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT: Good English skills in reading, speaking and, ideally, writing. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: · Good basic scientific background. Be able to read and understand projects-related literature and methodologies/ techniques. · An interest in and understanding of molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, pharmacology and virology. High motivation in research is essential. · Experience in any of the following would be beneficial, but not essential: cell culture/gene transfections; basic molecular biology such as cell culture, site-directed mutagenesis, gene cloning, DNA/RNA/protein isolation, western blotting, quantitative PCR, immunohistochemically staining, ELISA; microscopy and confocal microscopy. flow cytometry, FRET/BRET etc. Extensive experience is not required as full training would be given whilst in post. · Good organisational skills, ability to communicate orally and in writing. Experience in computing is essential.
