友善的全英文工作氛围，苏州工业园区非常宜居。 未来有拿全奖读英国利物浦大学博士的机会。 Lab Technician Position Information Position Title: Bioinformatician (Bioinformatics Technician) Department: Biological Sciences University/Campus: Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University Physical location of the position: Suzhou Employment Type: Full-Time Salary range: [HR to provide] Closing date: [to be decided] Department Specific Needs: To participate in research projects in biomolecular science as directed by the General Laboratory Manager and academic staff; Provides general bioinformatics analysis support for and mainly responsible for various research data analysis, and software compilations including especially next generation sequence and other high-throughput data analysis. BASIC FUNCTION: 1. Provides general bioinformatics analysis support for and mainly responsible for clinical and basic research data analysis, and software compilations including next generation sequence data pipeline development. 2. Summarizes data analyses results in the form suitable as the basis for the first draft of written reports, and makes preliminary interpretations of the data. 3. Assists with sample size calculation for studies and grant applications and in development of modular software pipelines for genome and microbiome sequencing. 4. Manages data including loading and querying data from database systems, and transforming data to the necessary formats. 5. Helps to identify, evaluate, and incorporate relevant algorithms and software pipelines by reviewing pertinent literatures in bioinformatics and computational biology 6. Analyzing health care and health care claims data using basic and advanced statistical methodologies/programming and preparing reports. 7. Data processing for accurate relocation, formatting, importing and exporting data using STATA and SAS software. 8. Data cleaning. Revisions to data entry screens and data checks. review and resolution of data discrepancies EDUCATION: Completion of BSc or Master’s degree in bioinformatics, biostatistics, computational science or related field; (Legible copies of transcripts verifying coursework and degree must be included. Official transcripts will be required upon employment.) LANGUAGE: English: high level skills in reading, speaking and, ideally, writing. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of BSc or Master’s degree in bioinformatics, biostatistics, computational science or related field; Experience with high-throughput datasets (e.g. RNA-seq, ChIP-seq). Ability to generate novel pipelines to analyze unique types of data. Strong experience in the use of a high-level programming language such as R, MATLAB, Python or Perl. Strong statistical background and experience in applying statistical packages in R and proficiency in the use of Bioconductor packages. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and to handle several concurrent projects. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. OTHER: Candidate must demonstrate clear evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community university students, staff and the community.
