Job description:
A research fellow is needed to work in the area of semiconductors and develop applications for electronic devices:
1. Development of new semiconducting thin film materials, using chemical and physical deposition method such as sputtering and / or printing.
2. Develop new device and application by applying physics of electronic devices combining with other novel devices such as sensors, neuromorphic.
3. Hands-on characterization physical and chemical properties especially for thin and ultrathin film, materials and devices.
4. Take ownership of equipment & assigned project; work hands-on in lab (clean-room, glove-box, fume-hood) with chemicals.
5. Research project management and handling multi-task to meet tight deadlines.
6. Regular maintaining of research and study records for possible publication in peer-review journal and conference.
7. Open to learn and advance in other research areas.
8. Assist Principle Investigator in various administrative matters.
Job requirement:
Candidates should have these required qualifications:
1. Post-graduate degrees (PhD) in Materials Science or Engineering, Electrical or Electronics with knowledge in materials.
2. Comfortable to handle both chemicals and electrical equipment (computer, specialised equipment).
3. Previous experience in general semiconductor devices and applications in sensing (bio, chemical) or neuromorphic (synapse, neural network) is necessary.
4. Strong understanding of product development for commercial application.
5. Good skills in time management, experiment design and data analysis.
6. Ability to work independently and contribute to the whole team.
7. Provide guidance for junior researchers and students (post-grad and under-grad).
8. Good commands in English for both writing and oral presentation.
