The results reveal the proposed method is superior to the conventional methods.
The results revealed the proposed method was superior to the conventional methods.
The results reveal that 是指这个结果是第一次出现的(a paper presenting the results for the first time)
The results revealed that 一般是评论一个已经出现过的结果,可以是评论这个结果对未来的影响力(a review article commenting on their significance ten years later)
如果从句里是现在时,比如our results showed that A is regulated by B.
这个是说,如果别人不管怎么重复都是和你一样的结果,你能保证你的结果不管在什么情况下都是正确性,用现在时——if you think your results are very general and show that A is regulated by B at any time or in any circumstance.
如果从句是过去式,比如our results showed that A was regulated by B.
这个就是比较保守的说法,只针对实验所设定的条件——if your results are specific to the time or circumstance of the test.
Don't mix them, though. Keep both in present tense or both in past.
“Our results show that A is regulated by B.”
If you use the past tense (“showed”) you imply that possibly your results no longer show the result you describe. Also, in technical writing, all of the main clauses should be in the present tense. Therefore, the present tense version is more correct.
The results reveal the proposed method is superior to the conventional methods. |
