Fully-funded Postdoctoral, PhD and Master positions at University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiaotong University Joint Institute under the supervision of Dr. Paul Weng (http://www.weng.fr) *** Location: Shanghai Jiaotong University (http://umji.sjtu.edu.cn/), Shanghai, China *** Requirements: Full time position, fully-funded for successful candidates Academic background: Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Robotics, Optimization, and Control Theory are preferred Fluent in English (working language is English) *** Research: Design and apply artificial intelligence, machine learning and optimization techniques to engineering domains (power systems, computer networks, robotics…) *** Information about positions and starting time: The graduate program is single-degree (from Shanghai Jiaotong University), but there are possibilities of spending a semester in a foreign university. The next recruitment of Chinese candidates will be during summer 2018 for a start in fall 2019. International students can still apply for fall 2018: http://umji.sjtu.edu.cn/calendar/2017-1109-1535/ For postdoc positions, the starting date can be any time after March 2018. The duration is from 1 year to 3 years and is renewable with the possibility of upgrading to a long-term faculty position.
