One Ph.D. fellowship within the field of immunology is now available at University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (Hamburg, Germany) in the laboratory of Dr. Lidia Bosurgi.

The Ph.D. project is focused on investigating whether macrophages in the liver can modulate the immune response to parasites, via phagocytosis of apoptotic cells.

We are looking for an exceptionally motivated Ph.D. candidate with a keen interest in innate immunity, infectious diseases and interdisciplinary teamwork. To be eligible to enroll in the Ph.D. program, all candidates are required to have a final degree in medicine or biology.

The Ph.D. program will start between January and March 2018.

The lab is located at the Bernard-Nocht-Institute for Tropical Medicine (BNITM, Hamburg, Germany). The Bernard-Nocht-Institute for Tropical Medicine is Germany's largest institution for research, services and training in the field of tropical diseases and emerging infections.

The Ph.D. degree will be awarded by the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf.
