Analytical Chemist Postdoc Position



Asaph Aharoni lab, Department of Plant & Environmental Sciences, Weizmann Institute of Science, in collaboration with the Eilon Shani lab at the Department of Molecular Biology and Ecology of Plants, Tel-Aviv University.



Description
Aharoni’s and Shani’s labs are seeking candidates for a postdoc position with expertise in mass spectrometry-based analysis of small molecules. This position will provide expertise, design, and implementation of advanced protocols for the identification and quantification of natural products using LC-MS and GC-MS. The main activity will be the analysis of metabolites belonging to multiple plant hormones classes. The candidate will further participate in various projects as part of collaborative research. Aharoni’s laboratory is equipped with the most modern and sophisticated analytical instruments for metabolite profiling and metabolomics, including Triple Quad and High Resolution Mass spectrometers, GC x GC, UPLC and SFC separation, etc. Suitable candidate will have an excellent opportunity to learn new analytical technologies and acquire ample experience in applying chromatography and mass spectrometry for small molecule profiling.



Qualifications Required:
?  PhD degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry.

?  Experience in working with small molecule separation, identification and quantitation, utilizing GC or HPLC/UPLC and/or MS technologies.

?  High motivation for learning and ability to work independently in a team environment.
