Despite the slow economics, we are strongly supported by the industry in the world and
looking for 2 PhD students to work immediately on the following projects:
•  Modelling and enhancing surface hydrophobicity by the interaction of non-ionic
and ionic surfactants.
•  Modifying the properties at liquid/solid and gas/liquid interfaces by novel blockcopolymers.
The first project requires the knowledge of surfacechemistry, electrochemistry and
surfactant/polymer chemistry. The second project requires the knowledge of surface
chemistry and surfactant/polymer chemistry. Both PhD students will work with research
fellows and need to go to industry sites sometimes to link the laboratory research to the
industrial problems.
The scholarships cover the living expenses from A$25,000 to A$32,000 with the tuition
fee waiver. To apply, Candidates should have a Master degree or will have one shortly in
any applied chemistry or engineering discipline with at least two international English
